New for 2025, our inclusive Voice (Performance & Pedagogy) degree offers a welcoming and diverse learning space for aspiring voice professionals and future voice teachers. This degree focuses on vocal performance, industry skills and pedagogy, providing a comprehensive foundation in technical skills and methodologies. It integrates various artistic and pedagogical disciplines alongside humanities and physical sciences. You’ll develop an insight into a range of diverse music and teaching environments, fostering cognitive, intellectual, practical, and contextual abilities. As the first of its kind in the UK, this degree aligns with Leeds Conservatoire's long-standing commitment to innovation and evolving the educational landscape. You’ll be encouraged to blend creativity with theoretical and technical skills. An industry focus will guide you toward converting your studies into professional opportunities as voice and singing practitioners within the music industry, education and beyond.

Assessment method

By employing a variety of assessment methods, the BA Voice (Performance & Pedagogy) aims to comprehensively evaluate students’ progress, knowledge, skills and reflections, while providing them with valuable feedback and support to further their development. Assessment methods include: Vocal Performance; Teaching Practicum Assessments; Research and academic writing / presentation; Portfolio Submission

Qualification requirements

Additional entry requirements: Applicants should also have achieved a minimum of three GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above. UCAS tariff points from music graded exams are also accepted (highest achieved per instrument (grade 6 and above), awarded by ABRSM, London College of Music, Trinity College, Rock School). All applicants will be required to either attend an audition or submit a portfolio of work. Please see https://www.leedsconservatoire.ac.uk/audition for up to date details of our audition process. English Language requirements: All applicants must meet the minimum English Language requirement, as set by the conservatoire. For UK applicants this is GCSE English Language at grade C/4. Equivalent qualifications, such as Functional Skills English Level 2 or National 5 English grade C, will also be accepted. For applicants that require a Student Visa to study in the UK, the standard requirement is IELTS 6.0 with no sub-test less than 5.5.
