Our preferred offer is BBB at A-level or equivalent. We do not require A-level Welsh for first language Welsh speakers. All offers are made following a review of the application form, predicted/achieved grades and subjects, the reference and personal statement. Welsh-medium provision is a key priority for the Welsh Government. The Welsh Government has a target of one million Welsh speakers by 2050 and sees education and linguistic progression as one of the main ways to achieve this, Therefore to support this priority, candidates, applying for Single Honours Welsh-medium degrees will receive an unconditional offer if their predicted achievement meets or exceeds our entry requirements, there is a record of success in a relevant GCSE and they hold Swansea University as their firm choice.
English language requirements
For applicants whose first language is not English we require a minimum overall IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent) and no less than 5.5 in each component.
