Course summary

More than ever football is driven by statistics and analysis. From a player's fitness to their in-game attributes, numbers play a huge part in the modern game. This programme will take an in-depth look at the numbers that make the game tick, alongside theoretical and practical coaching disciplines. It will enable students to develop a systematic and in-depth understanding of knowledge, and a critical awareness of current problems and/or new insights for the advanced study of football coaching and analysis. This Masters degree provides an inclusive, current and versatile curriculum of study which reflects the needs of the football industry for Master's students either full or part time. The course looks to support the continuing professional development of football coaches and those working in football or a closely related field. Students will utilise their advanced knowledge and understanding of football coaching to help them deal with complex issues systematically and creatively, problems, and communicate their conclusions clearly. Distance (with attendance) option The face to face block delivery sessions for students starting in September 2024 on a part time degree pathway will take place during the second year of your academic studies. This will be delivered during Semester B of the academic calendar which will take place early 2025. The exact dates for each campus and study option will be confirmed to all enrolled students by May 2024.

How to apply

International applicants

We do not currently hold an international license, this means at this moment we are unable to accept international applications who require a Tier 4 Visa to study in the UK. If you already hold a visa that allows full time masters study in the UK and would like to submit an application, please send the relevant copies of any previous or current UK visas if you choose to study on campus and a color copy of a valid passport during the application process. As the UK has now left the EU, all applicants from outside the British Isles who do not hold a current British passport would also require a visa to study in the UK. Applicants who hold pre-settled or settled status are eligible to study with the Global Institute of Sport on campus. If you are still unsure whether you would need a visa to study in the UK please contact our Compliance team on [email protected]
