Course summary

Gain the skills to collect, analyse and interpret performance data to make a real impact in the world of sport This course is designed to give you the practical skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in the sports industry. From day one, you’ll work hands-on with people across a range of sports and abilities, building your expertise in coaching, physical activity, sports science and inclusive practice. In your first year, you’ll cover the fundamentals of sports coaching, learning key coaching techniques and educational principles that form the foundation of effective coaching. To support you in this journey, you'll be assigned a Personal Academic Tutor (this will be one of your lecturers) who will guide you throughout your studies. You'll go on to focus on performance analysis, developing practical skills in data collection, video analysis, and performance evaluation. With hands-on experience working with athletes and teams, you’ll learn how to provide meaningful insights that drive performance improvements. Placements In your final year, you’ll spend at least 40 hours on placement as part of our work-based-learning module, giving you the experience needed for your future career.
