Course summary

Students on this course focus on knowledge and skills that can be applied within organisations rather than on how financial markets behave. This course is designed to develop existing knowledge and understanding of financial management and build on current research and analytical skills. It is an ideal course for those who have recently completed a 1st degree in accounting, or business administration, or those who have a related degree and substantial business experience.

Modules

Core modules: fundamentals of financial management ; financial context and contemporary issues ; corporate strategy ; corporate financial strategy ; performance measurement and management ; corporate financial reporting ; research methods ; masters dissertation.

Assessment method

Assessments will be a mix of written assignments, supervised mini-projects, role playing, presentations and examinations.

Entry requirements

You will need: an honours degree of 2:2 or above in Accounting and Finance; or an honours degree of 2:1 or above in Economics, Mathematics or a Business related subject. English Language Requirement If English is not your first language, you will be required to meet the UK Border Agency and Universities minimum English Language requirements, such as: - the International English Language Test (IELTS) 6.5 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in all components
