Course summary
Mae’r BA yn y Gymraeg yn berthnasol i’r Gymru gyfoes ac yn radd sy’n cael ei dysgu gan ysgol sydd wedi’i chydnabod am ansawdd ac effaith ei hymchwil. Nod y cwrs yw cynhyrchu graddedigion sydd â dealltwriaeth drwyadl (yn academaidd ac yn ymarferol) o’r iaith Gymraeg, ei llenyddiaeth a’i diwylliant, lefel uchel o sgiliau ieithyddol ar lafar ac yn ysgrifenedig, a sgiliau cyflogadwyedd a chreadigol datblygedig sy’n berthnasol i’r Gymru fodern. Mae’n gwrs tair blynedd â dau lwybr, un ar gyfer myfyrwyr sydd wedi astudio Cymraeg fel iaith gyntaf, ac un ar gyfer myfyrwyr sydd wedi astudio Cymraeg fel ail iaith. Yn y flwyddyn gyntaf bydd y carfannau hyn yn cael eu haddysgu ar wahân gan mwyaf. Daw myfyrwyr y ddau lwybr ynghyd ar gyfer y rhan fwyaf o’r modiwlau yn ystod blwyddyn dau, ac yn y flwyddyn olaf, addysgir pawb gyda'i gilydd. Mae’r cwrs yn cynnig ystod o fodiwlau craidd a dewisol i roi seiliau ichi yn yr iaith a’i llenyddiaeth, yn ogystal â chyfle i arbenigo mewn meysydd sydd o ddiddordeb personol neu alwedigaethol. Nod allweddol arall yw sicrhau eich bod yn cael ysbrydoliaeth a boddhad wrth astudio’r Gymraeg a’i diwylliant. Yn y Gymru gyfoes, gyda thwf Llywodraeth Cymru a chyflwyno Deddf yr iaith Gymraeg, mae’r gallu i ddefnyddio’r Gymraeg ar lefel broffesiynol yn hynod ddeniadol i gyflogwyr. We do not accept Critical Thinking, General Studies, Citizenship Studies, or other similar equivalent subjects. We will accept a combination of BTEC subjects, A-levels, and other qualifications, subject to the course specific grade and subject requirements.
English language requirements
All applicants are expected to have demonstrable English language skills. Most courses ask for GCSE English grade C/4 or equivalent, but some courses ask for GCSE English grade B/6 or equivalent.

Fees stated are for the 2025/26 academic year. The University reserves the right to increase tuition fees in the second and subsequent years of a course as permitted by law or Welsh Government policy. Where applicable we will notify you of any change in tuition fee by the end of June in the academic year before the one in which the fee will increase.
Fees for entry in subsequent years are subject to increase and will be confirmed by the end of October in the year preceding your start date of your programme.
