TEF Gold
Staffordshire University has opted into the TEF and received a Gold award.
During the course you will develop knowledge and skills in mental health nursing care and apply this to the holistic needs of those using mental health services, including their families and carers. You will learn about a range of therapeutic interventions, taking into account physiological, psychological, sociological, spiritual and cultural aspects of care. The School of Health and Social Care is committed to creating safer communities. It will achieve this through making an intellectual contribution in the field of patient safety – marking itself out as the recognised though leaders in the United Kingdom and beyond. It aspires to creating the very safest of graduates for the health and social care professions and will achieve this through a simulation-based education. All placements are within specialist mental health settings, and you will work in two NHS Trusts, each with pro-active employment programmes- so you know even before you finish the course that you have a job waiting for you. As part of the programme, you will experience innovative and creative learning, including the AZ2B theatre company’s dramatisations. You will also have certificated courses in:
- Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
- Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
- Behaviour Family Therapy
